Do you know what Kira Kira means? It means glitter.
Katie is just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. She has an older sister named Lynn. Lynn and Katie like to be best friends than being sisters. They were always there for each other and love each other. Things were always so happy and peaceful. Until Katie and Lynn’s family moved to Georgia.
Things started to change, Lynn is going to a different school and Katie is starting her first year in kindergarten. New school means new friends for Lynn…. but what about Katie?
New and good expectations are coming their family’s way. Katie’s mom is pregnant with a boy. Well, Katie has been wondering how her parents got the baby. Anyways, the girls were so excited to have a baby brother. So several months later, they finally had the baby. His name was Samuel.
Lynn, Katie, and Samuel were having happy days everyday. Lynn is always making straight A’s in school. Katie is always babysitting Samuel because she loves him. Life has never been good, has it?
A few years later, Lynn has been having tons of fevers and she has to be excused from school a lot of times, which it takes an effect on her grades. She sometimes feels better all the time and sometimes she throws up. Katie and her parents were worried so they took Lynn to the hospital. The results came back and that Lynn had anemia, which means that she doesn’t have a lot iron in her body.
Ever since then, things have been changing. Lynn is changing now, since she discovers that she has anemia. Lynn now is just lying in bed with this illness and it had changed her mood. Katie has never experienced this before.
Is Lynn dying? Or is she trying to fight this pain? To find out:
