Each 2nd grade student at Mountain View Elementary selected a famous African American that has made a significant impact in this country. They completed a graphic organizer with information about their childhood, adult life, and why they were remembered. They drew lines on their drawing paper to depict a quilt. Inside the lines they drew a picture of the famous person. On the outside lines they wrote one sentence from their graphic organizer. The pictures were then scanned and placed in an electronic quilt. These are displayed on the Mt. View Elementary web site. Good job students!

Heather Miller's 6th graders at Claremont Elementary - Tech Spotlight Week of Mar. 8, 2010

Mrs. Heather Miller’s sixth grade students at Claremont Elementary were faced with a real world problem… a mice dilemma. The students in Mrs. Miller’s class wanted to solve this problem, so they researched different types of mousetraps to determine the method the school should use. The students created podcasts to display their research findings. Once their podcasts were complete, the students in grades 3-6 viewed podcasts and cast their votes for the method of mousetrap the school should use. Thanks Mrs. Moose and Mrs. Hollar for assisting with this project.
